☕️Ingredients
Here are the ingredients we used for this recipe. You can find more information for substitutions below.
- Espresso. You need strong coffee here to balance out the sweetness of the white chocolate. Pull the espresso first or make the coffee and place it in the fridge or freezer to cool off quickly so it doesn't melt the ice in your latte.
- White chocolate. We recommend using a bar of white chocolate and cutting it up into small pieces so that it melts well. Chocolate chips don't melt as well, as they are meant to hold their shape, so use a bar if you can.

✨Substitutions & variations
Here are a few suggestions on additional flavors to try, or simple variations to this recipe.
- Swap the espresso. To use strong brewed coffee instead of espresso, use about 4 ounces of strong brewed coffee in place of 2 ounces of espresso.
- Use pre-made white chocolate sauce. Instead of making homemade white chocolate sauce, you can use a pre-made white chocolate sauce or even white chocolate flavored syrup instead.
- Creamier. Swap the milk for half and half for an ultra-creamy drink.
- Sugar free. Feel free to use sugar free white chocolate to lower the added sugar in this drink.
- Caramel iced white mocha. If you want to add another layer of flavor to the drink, a drizzle of salted caramel would make this drink even more decadent and delicious.
- Fruity iced white mocha. Berries and white chocolate are a perfect match, so try adding a splash of homemade raspberry simple syrup, blueberry simple syrup, or strawberry simple syrup for extra flavor.
🔪Prep work
- Chop the white chocolate into smaller pieces using a sharp knife.
- Brew the espresso or coffee and let it cool.
- Measure the rest of the ingredients.

✨Tips & tricks
- Chop the white chocolate up into small pieces. This will help it melt evenly.
- Don't scorch the milk! Once the milk is bubbling on the edges, it's ready. Don't let it boil, or burn the bottom of the pan.
- Once the milk is poured over the chocolate, let it sit for a few minutes before mixing it. This helps it melt gently, and completely.
- Cool the espresso. Allow the brewed espresso to cool down before mixing it with ice to prevent the ice from melting too quickly. This helps retain the strong coffee flavor and the drink's cold temperature.
- Use big ice cubes. This will avoid diluting the drink too quickly. You can also use coffee ice cubes for a more intense coffee flavor.
- Adjust sweetness to taste. Adjust the amount of white chocolate sauce according to your preference. Start with less and add more as needed. Remember that the sauce is sweet, so the amount will dictate the sweetness of your drink.
- Ensure the white chocolate sauce has a pourable consistency before using. If you're making the white chocolate sauce in advance, remember to warm it up slightly before using it in your drink, especially if it has thickened in the fridge.
