    • Quick and easy - Ideal for busy mornings, this recipe is ready in under 5 minutes with a blender!

    • Delicious and healthy coffee recipe - This recipe is a great way to help you hit your protein goals, and it's simple. It's also naturally sweetened with maple syrup instead of added refined sugar, and it's creamy, with a delicious coffee flavor.

    • Cold brew coffee - Iced coffee and espresso can also be used.
    • Vanilla extract & a dash of cinnamon - Optional, but delicious, and it adds something extra special to the drink.
    • Kosher salt - To balance the sweetness.
    • Ice cubes - For serving.

    ✨Substitutions & variations

Here are a few suggestions of different flavors to try, or simple variations of this drink.

    • Quicker version - You can also use your favorite pre-made protein shake instead of the homemade protein milk to make this drink even faster without the blender.
    • Low carb - Use your favorite sugar free sweetener. We love using sugar free maple syrup as a 1:1 substitute for traditional maple syrup. You can use your favorite keto sweetener, we love Swerve confectioners. Be sure to use a low carb milk, that's unsweetened. Unsweetened vanilla almond milk, or coconut milk would make great options.
    • Dairy free - Instead of using whey protein powder, use your favorite dairy free protein powder. Collagen powder or collagen peptides are also a good choice. Also, be sure to use a dairy free milk.
    • Vegan - Use your favorite plant-based milk, like oat or soy milk. You'll also need to use a plant-based protein powder.
    • For a hot drink - If you prefer hot drinks, you can make this drink hot instead of cold. To do so, heat the milk before blending it with the other ingredients to make the protein milk. Pour over a hot coffee, and enjoy!
    • More or less sweet - Add sweetener to taste.
    • Chocolate flavored - Use chocolate protein powder, and even some cocoa powder to give this drink a chocolatey flavor.
    • Add more protein - If you like, you can add more scoops of protein powder.
    • Blended frappuccino - If desired, you can add the coffee and ice to the blender along with all the other ingredients to make a creamy blended protein frappuccino.

    💭Frequently Asked Questions

    How to store the leftovers?

This drink is best enjoyed right away, and we don't recommend making it in advance. However, if you need to save it, store it in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. If possible, avoid pouring it over ice if you plan to have leftovers.

Can this recipe be made with a mason jar?

Yes, or a protein shaker bottle. Blending is the best option but you can also make this by shaking the ingredients vigorously in a jar with a lid.
