🍒Ingredients
Here are the ingredients we used for this recipe. You can find more information for substitutions below.
- Limes. We use one whole lime and fresh lime juice to give this drink a really refreshing flavor! The lime juice needs to be fresh - trust us on this!
- Frozen cherries. Frozen are a must here, this will help keep the drink cold! If you have to use fresh cherries, you'll need to add more ice. Also - make sure no cherry pits end up in the blender!
- Sweetened condensed milk. Not evaporated milk - they are not the same! Place a can in the fridge for a few hours before mixing this drink up so it can get nice and cold!
- Gin. Use your favorite gin. We love Empress 1908 Gin, it's truly our favorite and makes an appearance in all of our gin drinks on the site. That's because it's a premium gin, and not only is it beautiful, but it tastes amazing.

✨Substitutions & Variations
Here are a few suggestions on additional flavors to try, or simple variations to this recipe.
- Dairy-free/vegan. Feel free to use coconut sweetened condensed milk instead of regular to make this drink dairy-free or vegan!
- Add more fruit. You can add berries in addition to the cherries. Strawberries and raspberries in particular would taste wonderful with this!
- Swap the liquor. This drink would work well with virtually any spirit of your choosing, including vodka, bourbon, rum, and tequila!
- Alcohol free. If you want to make it a mocktail, just omit the gin. You may need to add a splash of water or juice (we'd recommend using cherry juice) to help the mixture blend properly. You can also use a non-alcoholic gin as a 1:1 substitute.
🔪Prep work

✨Tips & tricks
- Use freshly squeezed lime juice. When it comes to lime juice, you just can't beat fresh! Since there are so few ingredients in this drink, they all make a big impact on the flavor. Squeeze it fresh yourself for the best results.
- Frozen cherries are best. This will help the drink stay colder, for longer!
- Chill the gin and the sweetened condensed milk. We want all the ingredients to be as cold as possible. This will help prevent the drink from melting quickly.
- Use fresh ice! If ice has been sitting in the freezer for a long time, it may begin to absorb odors from the food around it. Do yourself a favor, and use fresh ice for the best-tasting drink.
- Add more gin to taste. For a boozier drink, add more gin to taste! Just be aware that you may want to add more ice or frozen cherries with the added liquid.
