🍑Ingredients
Here are the ingredients we used for this recipe. You can find more information for substitutions below.
- Peaches - Use nice ripe and sweet peaches when they are in season.
- Unsalted butter - We like to use softened butter so it's easier to combine with the other ingredients. Unsalted is best so you can control the salt levels easier, but feel free to use salted butter if that's what you have on hand.
- Brown sugar
- Kosher salt - To balance out the sweetness. You can leave it out if you are using salted butter.
- Cinnamon
- Cooking spray - We use an avocado oil spray.

✨Substitutions & variations
Here are a few suggestions on additional flavors to try, or simple variations to this recipe.
- No fresh peaches? If peaches are out of season, feel free to use canned peaches. You may want to omit some of the brown sugar if you take this route since canned peaches usually come in a sugary syrup.
- Swap the brown sugar for a different sweetener. You can use a drizzle of honey or maple syrup if you prefer.
- Add more toppings. Add some crushed up graham cracker crumbs, nuts, chocolate chips, or whipped cream when serving for extra flair.
- Use other stone fruits. You can use nectarines, plums, or apricots for this desert instead of peaches.
- Low carb and sugar free version. For a healthy snack, use a brown sugar replacement like Brown Swerve to lower the carbs. Serve with your favorite low carb ice cream.
- Vegan and dairy free. Simply replace the butter with vegan butter in this recipe. You could also use coconut oil, though it will impact the flavor. Be sure to serve with vegan ice cream.
🔪Prep work
- Allow butter to sit out at room temperature for about an hour, so it can soften.
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F.
- Measure out all remaining ingredients.
📋Instructions
Start by separating the peaches into two halves. First, hold the peach vertically with the stem upwards. Using a sharp knife held vertically with the peach, insert the blade carefully until you hit the pit.
Now, carefully roll the peach around the blade of the knife ensuring the blade is touching the pit the whole time until you have come back to the place where you first cut in. (Image 1)
Put down the knife and hold the peach in the palm of your hands. Twist the halves gently to separate it into two segments. (Image 2)
Now, you can pop the pit off with your fingers, or use a spoon to get underneath it and remove it. That's it! (Image 3)
Place the peaches cut side down on an air fryer tray or in an air fryer basket. Spray lightly with cooking oil or baking spray. Air fry for 3-5 minutes to soften. (Image 4)
In a small bowl, combine softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt. Set aside. (Image 5)
Remove the peaches from the air fryer after 3-5 minutes until they have begun to soften and the skins start to loosen from the peach flesh. (Image 6)
✨Pro tip: Please note, our air fryer is 1500 watts. It is a good idea to check the wattage of your air fryer before cooking. Higher wattage may want to use a lower temperature/shorter cooking time.
Place the peach halves cut side up in an air fryer basket or tray. Spread the butter mixture evenly over the peaches (Image 7), and place back on the air fryer for an additional 5-6 minutes, until the butter mixture is caramelized on top.
✨Pro Tip: Use parchment paper to collect the butter and sugar mixture to drizzle over top after cooking, and to help make this dish even easier to cleanup!
Serve hot with your favorite ice cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Enjoy!
✨Tips & tricks
- Use parchment paper. The parchment paper catches the butter and sugar that will run off of the peaches to make for a tasty drizzle when serving it with ice cream!
- Serve hot! These peaches are best enjoyed nice and warm, so eat them right out of the air fryer, as soon as they won't burn your mouth! 😉
- Don't overcrowd the cooking tray or basket. If the peach halves are too close, they will take longer to soften. Give them space between each other for better results.
- Use fresh, ripe peaches. This will ensure you can cut them in half easier, while also ensuring they taste nice and sweet!
- Be mindful that cooking times will vary. The time needed to cook the peaches is based on the model of your air fryer and the ripeness of your peaches. Fork test the peaches to determine if they are cooked to your preference and adjust cooking times accordingly.
- If using salted butter, skip adding salt.
- Use room temperature butter for best results, so it will be easy to mix it.
