    • Lemon juice - Freshly squeezed lemon juice makes for a wonderfully refreshing base of this drink.
    • Bourbon whiskey - Use your favorite variety here.
    • Homemade sugar free blackberry liqueur - This is what makes the drink any kind of "bramble" variation! Our sugar free creme de mure is so easy to make, it just takes a bit of time. It's well worth the effort.
    • Crushed ice - The typical ice used in this drink. Regular ice will also work just fine.
    • Top with: Diet ginger beer if you want! It's optional, but we absolutely love it.
    • Garnish with: Fresh blackberries, fresh mint, lemon (optional)

How to Make This Keto "Dramble" Blackberry Bramble:

Make your sugar free creme de mure at least 3 days in advance.

Fill a glass with crushed ice. Pour in freshly squeezed lemon juice.

Tips For The Best Blackberry Bourbon Cocktail:

    • Make your blackberry liqueur ahead of time, at least 3 days in advance. You can also squeeze your lemon juice a few days in advance. Other than that, this drink is incredibly simple!
    • This cocktail is made with about ⅔ of a serving of our homemade sugar free creme de mure, and the nutrition facts will reflect this. You can use a sugary store bought version, but it will definitely impact the sugar and calorie count.
    • Diet ginger beer is totally optional, but it's really delicious!
    • Crushed ice is the traditional type of ice used, but any regular ice will work perfectly fine.

    What Is A Bramble Cocktail?

A bramble drink is typically a simple gin cocktail, made with fresh lemon juice, served over ice, with just a splash of creme de mure. This drink is simple variation on that recipe.

The Bramble is a cocktail created by Dick Bradsell in 1980s London, England.

It's called a "bramble" because that's the term for a prickly shrub that grows blackberries, raspberries or dewberries. The names bramble or brambleberry refer to blackberries, or products of blackberries like jam or jelly.

    What's A Dramble?

This drink is a variation on the standard gin bramble, like we mentioned above. Nowadays, it's actually known as a "dramble" to many cocktail enthusiasts.

Since people are often way more familiar with the name "bramble" we just decided to name the post a bourbon bramble, so it was a bit easier to find!

How To Make Your Own Sugar Free Blackberry Liqueur:

Making your own sugar free blackberry liqueur (creme de mure) is super simple, it just takes a little bit of time to infuse the blackberries into the red wine. After everything is infused and strained, you would add sweetener, and vodka. You can find the full instructions and recipe here on this detailed post.
