Whipped Honey Butter Recipe

This delicious Homemade Whipped Honey Butter has a perfectly fluffy texture and sweet taste. It's the perfect topping for a variety of vessels, and is ready in under 5 minutes!

Equipment

  • hand mixer (can use a stand mixer with a whisk attachment)
  • mixing bowl

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces unsalted butter, room temperature (2 sticks)
  • 3 tablespoons honey (or more, to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon milk, room temperature (optional, to thin)

Instructions

  • Combine softened butter, honey, and salt in a mixing bowl. Starting on low speed with a hand mixer or stand mixer with a paddle attachment, increase to medium speed and mix until completely combined.
  • Add more honey and/or salt to taste, and continue mixing, streaming in milk slowly until desired consistency is reached.
  • Spread over top of bread, sweet potatoes, cornbread muffins, and more! Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 7 days. To freeze, store in a freezer-safe container for up to 6 months and thaw in the fridge overnight.

Notes

  • Make sure to mix room-temperature ingredients for best results.
  • Don't use raw honey, make sure to use a pourable/runny type of honey.
  • Sweeten and add salt to taste. 
  • Don't freeze leftovers in a glass container, as glass expands as it gets cold and may burst. 
  • Feel free to mix in additional flavors like ground cinnamon or spices, vanilla, lemon zest, and even hot honey instead of regular honey.
