Ingredients

  • 1.5-2 ounces homemade strawberry simple syrup To taste! 1.5 ounces is roughly 1 serving of our homemade recipe.
  • 4 ounces whole milk (or any milk of choice, heavy cream, or half and half)
  • 1 ounce espresso chilled
  • Whipped cream, strawberries, and freeze-dried strawberry pieces to garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Pull the espresso shot and prepare the strawberry simple syrup in advance and give them ample time to chill before making the drink.
  • In a glass, mix together the milk and the strawberry simple syrup to make strawberry milk.
1.5-2 ounces homemade strawberry simple syrup, 4 ounces whole milk

  • We don't recommend making this drink in advance. The simple syrup can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 weeks. You can also premix the strawberry syrup and milk and store in the fridge up to 5 days in advance.

Notes

    • Make sure everything is cold when mixing the drinks. Be sure that your strawberry simple syrup and espresso have had time to cool off completely before adding them to the drink, or else they will just melt the ice!
    • Use fresh ice. The ice you use can have a big impact on the overall flavor of the drink, so make sure it's not the ice that has been sitting around in the back of the freezer for months collecting smells from the other food!
    • Use ice cube alternatives. You can also use coffee ice cubes instead of ice to prevent the drink from getting watered down as the ice melts.
    • Sweeten to taste. Add as much or as little strawberry syrup as you'd like to make this taste just how you like it.
    • To use strong-brewed coffee instead of espresso, you will likely need to use double the amount of coffee as you would a single shot of espresso.
