Make apple cider ice cubes
Make the apple cider slushies
Add 3 cups of apple cider ice cubes and some of the apple cider (start with ½ a cup) to a blender.
Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon, and some maple syrup (start with 1 tablespoon) to the blender.
Blend until a smooth, slushie conssitency is reahced. Taste, and adjust sweetness level as needed. If the slushie is too watery, add more apple cider ice cubes. If it's too thick, thin with more apple cider.
Serve right away and garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon, a cinnamon stick, and an apple slice.
This drink doesn't save well, and we don't recommend making it in advance. However, you can keep it in the freezer for up to 3 months and thaw it on the countertop or in the fridge until it's lightly pourable and drinkable again.
- Use fresh apple cider. Apple cider from an apple orchard is definitely always going to be your best bet and give you the best flavor.
- Make extra apple cider ice cubes. In case you want to thicken your drink, you will want to have extra apple cider ice cubes on hand. Do not use regular ice cubes, or you will just water down the drink.
- Use apple cider to thin the drink. If your drink is too thick, add a small amount of apple cider, not water, to thin it.
- Sweeten to taste. If making this drink for the first time, start with less maple syrup and add more to taste.
