1 ounce lavender simple syrup , 1 ounce fresh squeezed lemon juice , 1.5 ounces vodka , ice for cocktail shaker , sprig of lavender for garnish
- Cool the simple syrup. To make mixing this drink up easy, make the lavender simple syrup in advance to allow it time to cool, or else it will melt the ice!
- Use fresh lemon juice. There's just no exception for fresh lemon juice in this recipe considering there are so few ingredients!
- Chill the glass. Chill your martini glass in the freezer for a few minutes before serving. This will help keep your drink colder for longer and is especially important because we aren't serving this drink over ice.
- Use fresh ice. Ice that has been in the freezer for a while can start to absorb the odors of items around them. For the best-tasting drink, use fresh ice!
- Balance the flavors. Lavender can be a strong flavor, so adjust the amount of syrup to suit your taste. If making this for the first time, start with a little and add more if you want more.
- Double-strain the cocktail. This will remove any ice shards and lemon solids. This ensures a sophisticated presentation and an enjoyable sipping experience.
