Instructions

  • The recipe provided makes 2 servings, so we found it easier to make this drink in a cocktail shaker. You could certainly make them by the glass too, like the classic dark and stormy cocktails are made. Add in your rum to an ice filled cocktail shaker.
  • Using a heavy duty citrus squeezer, squeeze in the juice of a whole lime. Add in a dash of bitters.
  • Shake well, and strain into ice filled rocks or low ball glasses.Shake well, and strain into ice filled rocks or low ball glasses.
  • Fill glasses with ginger beer. Fill glasses with ginger beer.

Notes

The recipe provided is for 2 servings, and is made in a cocktail shaker. In the original making of this recipe, the cocktail is not shaken in a cocktail shaker. You can simply pour it into your glass and stir if you want, but we love to mingle all the ingredients together. Again, optional. In addition, angostura bitters are not traditionally used. Feel free to leave them out if you want, but again, we like them! Dark and Stormy purists would probably crucify us for the way we make these.
