Notes

  • You can prepare our raspberry simple syrup up to 2 weeks in advance, and store it in an airtight container in the fridge. Make sure the simple syrup is cooled completely before adding it to the drink.
  • Use fresh lime juice. Lime is key to this drink, so use fresh for best results!
  • Sweeten to taste. If making this drink for the first time, add less simple syrup at first and then more if need be.
  • Don't skip the copper mugs! This is how a traditional Moscow mule is made, and it will help keep the drink very cold.
  • Storing leftovers: This recipe is best enjoyed right away, and we don't recommend making it in advance. However, if you need to save it, store it in an airtight container in the fridge for a couple of hours. Anything after that, and the ginger beer will go flat.
  • Alternatively, you can premix the raspberry simple syrup, vodka, and lime juice and store in the fridge for a day or two before serving to save a bit of time on the day of. When time to serve, pour into ice filled mugs and top with ginger beer.
  • To make this recipe without the simple syrup: You could muddle raspberries in the bottom of a copper mug with lime juice, then add ice, vodka and ginger beer and proceed as usual!
  • To make this sugar free and keto friendly:  Follow the instructions on how to make our homemade raspberry simple syrup sugar free, and use diet ginger beer instead of regular.
