This Apple Cinnamon Whiskey Sour is fall in a glass. It’s sugar free too & only 3 carbs per glass. Fresh lemon juice, apple & cinnamon infused whiskey, then sweetened with sugar free maple syrup create the perfect sweet and sour fall infused whiskey cocktail! You only need a few simple ingredients and a few tools to make an incredible drink.
3-4 days before making your cocktail, you will need to infuse your whiskey. The process is simple. First, cut your apple into chunks, and add your cinnamon sticks to the jar. Cover fruit and cinnamon sticks with whiskey then shake the jar for about 30 seconds. Put the whiskey in a cool, dark cabinet and let it sit for at least 3-4 days (or longer) to let the flavors infuse.
After a few days, strain the apple pieces and the cinnamon sticks from the whiskey. Discard the cinnamon sticks and apple pieces.
Now that your whiskey is infused and ready to go, this cocktail comes together very quickly. Fill your cocktail shaker with ice. Add your apple cinnamon infused whiskey to the shaker.
Add in your ChocZero maple syrup to taste. You will want to warm it a bit in the microwave, or else the maple syrup will stick to the ice in your shaker. Add ice to your glasses that you will serve the drinks in. Shake your cocktail shaker well.
Strain the cocktails into your glasses.
Serve and enjoy responsibly!
Macros: We are certainly not nutritionists, and we cannot guarantee the accuracy of these macros, given that we infused the liquor with real apples. These macros provided are an estimate. Makes 2 servings, 176 calories per serving, 3 net carbs, 0 fat, protein and fiber.
Infusing the Whiskey: We're suddenly kinda obsessed with infusing our liquor. It really is the easiest thing ever. The only thing you need is time. For this recipe, we recommend infusing the whiskey in a cool, dark place for at least 3 days. We infused ours for about 6 days and wound up with a delicious and rich flavor of cinnamon, with a hint of apple. If you want to see another successful infusion recipe, check out this Blood Orange Serrano Ginger Fizz here!
Sweeteners: We advise sweetening this to taste! We use a combination of SweetLeaf Stevia clear drops and ChocZero Maple Syrup! Quick tip with the ChocZero, heat up the bottle in the microwave for about 20 seconds to thin the maple syrup a bit. Otherwise, the syrup may be a little too thick and will freeze to the ice cubes in the ice cream shaker. ChocZero has the best keto maple syrup and other flavored syrups on the market. we are proud affiliates for the company, so we can offer you guys a 10% discount on all of your orders! Use the code 'AFullLiving' at checkout. ChocZero often runs out of their amazing products because they are in such high demand, but don't worry, they restock every Friday! If they run out on their website and you are in desperate need, order the maple syrup here from Amazon.
If you don't care about your sugar intake, feel free to use regular maple syrup instead! We think that 1 ounce of maple syrup should be plenty sweet. We don't exactly know.. it's hard to say since we don't use that ingredient very often!
Spices: The whole cinnamon sticks in this recipe really add for a beautiful flavor, as well as look and texture of the drink. We have tried using dried ground spices for this, but found they just sort of coagulated at the bottom of our glasses and got slimy, so the last sip of drink was kind of gross going down.
