Air Fryer Short Ribs

Short Ribs in the Air Fryer are an easy recipe for a quick dinner! Make tender ribs with minimal effort. No need to worry about braising short ribs every time you cook them anymore! If you're looking for beef short ribs quickly, your air fryer will give you the best results.

  • 2.25 pounds bone-in beef short ribs (English cut)
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • parsley for garnish (optional)


  • Dry short ribs off really well with a paper towel. Preheat your air fryer to 390°F.  In a small bowl, make a simple dry rub with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. Coat all sides of the ribs with the seasoning blend. Now, cover the ribs with olive oil on all sides.
  • Place ribs in a single layer on air fryer trays or the bottom of the air fryer basket. Cook until internal temperature reaches at least 165°F internally. *Although other cuts of beef can be consumed rare at 120°F, you will want to cook these longer, or else they won't be tender enough. This should take roughly 15 minutes.
  • Allow short ribs to rest for 10 minutes before digging in to seal in the juices. That's it! Garnish with fresh parsley and serve!
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. Reheat gently in the air fryer, on the stovetop or in the microwave.


  • Although beef can be consumed at an internal temperature of 120°F (rare) we recommend cooking this cut to 165°F - 200°F so it becomes more tender. 
  • Allow short ribs to sit out at room temperature for at least 30 minutes before cooking.
