Low Carb Keto Rosemary Margarita

This Low Carb Keto Rosemary Margarita is a refined sugar free holiday version of your favorite tequila drink. It's made with simple ingredients that you likely already have sitting around this time of year. It's sweetened with a homemade sugar free rosemary simple syrup. Complete with, fresh lemon, orange and lime juice. Add a healthy pinch of salt if you love salty margaritas like us! This drink is definitely boozy, as well as a bit savory, sweet, herbaceous, citrusy and refreshing, all while being well balanced and under 4 net carbs per drink.

Ingredients

For the rosemary simple syrup:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 & ¼ cup allulose (or preferred sweetener)
  • 5 sprigs fresh rosemary

To make the cocktail:

  • 1.5 ounces fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 ounce fresh squeezed orange juice
  • 1 ounce fresh squeezed lime juice
  • 4 ounces tequila of choice
  • 3 ounces homemade sugar free rosemary simple syrup* (from above)
  • ½ teaspoon pink Himalayan salt + more to rim your glass
  • Citrus wedges and rosemary sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  • To prepare your rosemary simple syrup, Bring 1 cup of water to a boil, then stir in your allulose (or sweetener of choice). Once the sweetener is dissolved, add in your rosemary. Move the heat to low. Steep for 30 minutes to 1 hour. After steeping, strain the simple syrup into a jar. Allow to cool before using.
  • Add your fresh squeezed lemon, lime and orange juices to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Add in your rosemary simple syrup, tequila, and salt. Shake until the shaker is icy cold, about 30 seconds.
  • Strain into ice filled glasses that you’ve rimmed with lime juice and salt. Garnish with a wedge of your favorite citrus that's in the drink, and a sprig of rosemary. Enjoy!!

Notes

Best enjoyed right away, you could mix up sour mix a day ahead, and then serve over ice if desired.
