Here’s What You Need For This Chipotle Lime Shrimp Recipe:
Ingredients:
- Shrimp, peeled and deveined, tails left on
- Pink Himalayan salt
- Chipotle powder
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Smoked paprika (optional, for color)
- Black ground pepper
- Limes
- Avocado oil (or oil of choice)
- Serve with: Avocado Lime Crema, Limes, Cilantro. We sometimes pair them with these awesome EggLife foods egg white wraps!

Recipe Notes:
Shrimp: For the shrimp, devein and peel them before preparing. We suggest leaving the tails on for more flavor! This also makes them easier to handle when cooking. We also suggest using large shrimp for this if you can find them. Any size will do, but the smaller they get, the less cooking time they need, so just keep this in mind. Shrimp in general cook very quickly so you will want to keep a close eye on them.
Seasoning: As always, we provide a seasoning suggestion but feel free to add in your own twist of ingredients. We would recommend adding the lime juice last, because the acidity can cook the shrimp quickly. The best thing about this recipe is how quick everything comes together, and you only need to let the shrimp marinade for a few minutes before grilling them up.

Cooking Method: These would be great to make on a grill, but since we live in a small, Chicago apartment with no opportunity for a grill, we use our Lodge Cast Iron Reversible Griddle instead! It creates some really great grill marks and flavor. You could use a cast iron skillet of course too.
We love to use skewers because it simplifies the cooking process, especially on the griddle. It makes it easy for us cook the shrimp evenly. We used four shrimp per six inch skewer to ensure even cooking. Skewers are optional of course.
Serving Suggestions: Serve with avocado lime crema, cilantro, limes and any vessel you want. We love using these egg white wraps by EggLife foods as a perfect way to wrap everything up into one delicious bite.

Let’s Make It!
Start by thawing, peeling, and deveining the shrimp if necessary. We purchased our shrimp ready to go, so we were able to skip this step. Start by preheating your griddle or skillet. This whole process goes really fast, and we want the griddle to be nice and hot so we get some great grill marks on the shrimp!
In a large mixing bowl, combine your shrimp, avocado oil, lime juice, chipotle powder, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, onion and garlic powder. Use a rubber spatula to mix together well.
Now, skewer the shrimp. We recommend about four shrimp per six inch skewer to ensure an even cook. These go really fast. You really only need about 2 minutes per side until the shrimp are cooked thru and have some nice grill marks.
Now, dig in. We served it with our homemade avocado lime crema, more limes, cilantro and wrapped it all up in an egg white wrap by EggLife foods.
